Carolyn Lewis is a self employed designer and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Industrial Design from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Carolyn’s focus shifted to publishing when she began freelancing for the Department of Curatorial Publications at the Cleveland Museum of Art and has since participated in the design of 28 art books and collection catalogues. She has also worked on publications for The Western Reserve Historical Society, Kent State University Press, The Cleveland Artist Foundation and has designed many corporate annual reports and collateral products.
In addition to her specialty in long documents and multipage layout Carolyn excels at designing maps of all kinds. She recently completed the design of a navigation kit for the Ohio to Erie Trail that contains 32 maps for traveling across the state of Ohio by bicycle. These maps are the perfect companion to the self-published IGotABike Ohio to Erie Trail Guide. The 69 page interactive pdf document was released in May 2013 and has been wildly successful and was recognized for outstanding artistry by the Ohio Tourism Association with a RUBY Award in October. Carolyn has extensive experience in a wide range of design disciplines and is available for contract projects of any size.
